Trauma

Trauma, by definition is unbearable and intolerable. Trauma reshapes our brains and body, negatively impacting the ability to be self-aware, to engage, trust, connect, and be present. Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes, ranging from a single catastrophic event to chronic prolonged disturbances including violence, loss, neglect, humiliation, oppression, financial insecurity, infidelity, living in chaotic environments and many more. Working through your trauma can provide an opportunity to recover and reclaim your life.

Trauma-Informed Therapy and EMDR

Trauma-Informed therapy tailors interventions in the context of your individual trauma history, triggers, and specific values. Therapists provide a safe space to work with clients to heal from their past with an informed lens of how trauma impacts our brain, mind and body.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of therapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms that are the result of a disturbing life experience. EMDR therapy is an integrative treatment that shows the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma once the block to mental processing is removed.  

Trauma-informed therapy and EMDR helps clients regain their power and realize their trauma does not define them.
